Abstract:
The paper deals with results of an investigation of the dam¬ping capacity of double-row plain roller bearings with adjustable radial clearance used as a machine tool spindle bearing in connection with its radial clearance/tightness. Damping capacity of spindle bearings is discussed taking into account type of the thrust bearing when spindle is rotating and at rest.
