Abstract:
The aim of this article is to provide a descriptive report of the ways we can use technology in the EFL classroom, in relation with the integration of the four major language skills. It illustrates the interaction between the methods of teaching by uniting the different language skills and the technology, which can be used to enhance them. The source of this research is a survey of the available information about the methodology of teaching English as a foreign language and the technology used in the EFL classroom. Another source of this research is the author’s personal experience as a lecturer of English language in the Technical University in Sofia. The result shows that the goal is not to substitute technology for quality teacher instruction, but rather to integrate it seamlessly, so that it can support our students with interactive, meaningful lessons that will engage both their attention and their brains. The result also indicates that, above all, pedagogy must lead technology and that we must intentionally choose the right digital tools for the language classroom using our knowledge of the learners in front of us. Furthermore, technology must amplify the student’s voice. Technology should help us to spice up our lessons and increase student engagement
