Demaliaj, Edea, director.; Kirkov, Kiril, supervisor.
2021 [issued] 2021.
A ballet teacher who has dedicated her whole life to dance, faces the after-effects of a worldwide pandemic. Her passion and desire to share this artform with many people, manages to overcome the difficulties and challenges the whole world faced in 2019.The central message of this film is an invitation to the audience to never stop creating and performing art. The heart of the story is Rudi Demaliaj a 45-year-old ballet teacher who has been studying dance since she was five years old. She refers to art as soul food, therefore this whole film will tackle on the importance of somewhat forgotten artforms, and the overall spiritual connection created amongst humans while creating art.
Rudi will show the audience a day in a ballet teachers’ life, throughout COVID-19, while sharing her personal story and how she discovered ballet. Through the help of supportive characters (ballet students) the audience will get to follow the devotion and sacrifice put into practice from these young girls. Following the Corona virus pandemic, many institutions shut down, including the National School of Ballet. In this film the audience gets to follow the after-effect of the pandemic. It is obvious that the students have missed their ballet classes, as well as dancing in a theatre, as they always arrive to class before their teacher and work for hours in order to perfect their moves.
