Abstract:
In this research, the potential of combining modern floral textile patterns with different types of garments in fashion design is explored. Through a mobile-friendly online survey, five forms of clothing are presented, each combined with three different variants of floral textile patterns. The results of the study show that garments using textile pattern variant 3 consistently receive the highest rating values in all categories. Additionally, hoodies were found to receive the lowest user ratings when using floral textile patterns. Using the Principal Component Analysis method, the relationships between a textile pattern variant and the type of clothing are established, providing valuable information to designers to
create fashionable, versatile and attractive clothing collections. Overall, the study offers guidelines for the use of floral textile patterns in contemporary fashion and contributes to a better understanding of their potential in fashion design.
