Abstract:
Floral patterns are used in fashion design and their interpretation has evolved over time. Their geometric interpretation can be made by automated computer tools. In this development, a geometric interpretation of floral patterns for contemporary fashion clothing and accessories is explored. Geometric principles are suggested to traditional floral designs. Unique interpretations have been created that can be applied to a range of fashion garments and accessories. Presented are fashion apparel and accessory designs that are designed using two variations of geometric floral patterns. The results of this interpretation for contemporary fashion design are discussed and compared. The findings show that the geometric interpretation of floral patterns can offer new possibilities, both for designers and consumers. The combination of geometric floral patterns and sustainable fashion practices can create a powerful synergy that results in innovative and stunning designs that are both modern and environmentally responsible.
