Abstract:
Cold plasma-chemical surface oxidation was applied into changing the hydrophilic-hydrophobic balance of polyester insulating film before and after ethyl alcohol surface cleaning. Two representative atmospheric plasma source were in use – symmetrical dielectric barrier co-planar diode discharge and asymmetrical or hybrid corona-dielectric barrier discharge. Sessile drop test was applied for measuring the equilibrium contact angle. The Sessile drop technique is a method used for the characterization of solid surface energies, and in these cases, aspects of liquid surface energies and surface polarity. The homogeneous dielectric barrier discharge effectiveness was verified.
