Abstract:
The problem of random load disturbance rejection for hydro generator operating in local network is formulated as an optimal controller design problem in sense of minimum mean-square error - Wiener filter design. A multiple model adaptive control approach is explored. The control signal is formed as a weighted sum of particular control signals. They are designed using Wiener filters for different load conditions variance. In the turbine controller design are taken into account special features of the plant related to its non minimum phase characteristics as well as control signal magnitude limitations. Simulation results with the proposed multiple model controller show a significant reduction of the mean-square error with respect to the case of singe controller.
