Abstract:
The paper presents implementation of an IGBT behavioral model in MATLAB/Simulink. The model is built using the configuration of the Hammerstein model consisting of a nonlinear static block followed by a linear dynamic block. The nonlinear DC equations and correction functions are precisely represented and the parameters of the dynamic part are extracted and optimized using wide computational possibilities of the MATLAB package, which is resulting in a good accuracy. The required parameters setup in the model is shown too. This is easy for the users and makes the model applicable for different type of IGBTs using data sheets and simple measurements or simulation results. The results are compared with the simulations of the same model, implemented in PSpice simulator.
