Abstract:
Three-dimensional jets are widely used in verious technological processes. In this paper the flow field of heated jet with aspect ratio A= a/b = 3 is investigated at several initial conditions. The various characteristics of the velocity and the temperature fields are obtained. The velocity and thermal half-widths in the two principal coordinate directions and mass entrainment are calculated. Using the method of several overheatings of a hot-wire the velocity — and temperature fluctuations and their correlations in few cross sections of the jet are obtained. Considerable changes of turbulence was observed in case of heated jet so in this case the temperature could not be treated as a passive scalar.
