Abstract:
This paper reviews a laboratory model of a input processing unit for multi-criteria ears fault protection in isolated or high impedance grounded distribution networks. The earth-faults are detected by the transient components of the zero current and zero voltage sequences and by-relatively comparing the-level of the base harmonics and the 5, 7, 11 and 13 harmonics, and their total In the different lines. The analogue input signals from zero current and zero voltage sequence filters are subjected to preprocessing before being applied to the rnicrocontroler. Those analogue signals are processed by shunts, anti-aliasing filters, amplifiers and A/D converters. The input processing unit separates the transient components in one circuit and the harmonics in another. The laboratory experiments support the correct behaviour of the proposed solution.
