Abstract:
A solution to the problem of natural frequencies of a flexible bearing support is given in this paper. The solution obtained is based on a dynamic model with periodic distribution of the mass. The complex amplitude method is used to solve Lagrange equations which govern the radial motion of the flexible journal support. The model presented here allows for the inclusion of search* for all harmonic components of the system's response when such flexible supports are used in high speed rotor systems,
